Dementia Home Care in Central Oregon
When an elderly parent or loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, or another condition that affects memory and cognition, you may experience a range of emotions. It can be challenging to navigate care for these conditions and know the appropriate next steps for keeping your loved one safe and secure at home. In-home care may be the right choice for individuals with mild to moderate dementia symptoms.
At New Outlook Home Care, we provide personalized, compassionate in-home memory care services in Redmond, OR and the surrounding areas.
Memory care is a specialized type of elder care that focuses on providing a safe, supportive, and structured environment for individuals living with various stages of dementia or other types of cognitive impairment. This type of care is highly tailored to individual needs, and it will likely evolve over time as the client’s condition progresses. Our Medford and Redmond memory care services typically include:
What is Memory Care?
Bathing and Dressing Assistance
Meal Preparation
Transportation
Mobility Assistance
Fall Prevention
Toileting Assistance
Managing Familiar Daily Routines
Medication Reminders and Assistance (as permitted by Oregon state regulations)
Along with care plans to ensure the health and safety of our clients, we also emphasize meaningful engagement to build confidence and social connection, which in turn can slow the progression of dementia and related conditions while improving overall quality of life.
Who We Support with Dementia Home Care Services
Our skilled caregivers support individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, all stages of dementia, Parkinson’s disease with cognitive changes, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), stroke-related cognitive changes, and other conditions that affect memory, thinking, and daily living.
Designing Your Loved One’s In-Home Dementia Care Plan
Every client begins with a comprehensive in-home assessment. We learn about their medical history, daily routines, cognitive and physical abilities, personality, interests, safety concerns, family goals, and physician recommendations. Together with the client and family, we develop a personalized care plan that is regularly reviewed and adjusted as needs change over time. If your loved one reaches a point where remaining in the home is no longer feasible, we can recommend specialized facilities in the area that focus on caring for patients with moderate to severe dementia and cognitive impairment.
